Objectives
The overall aim of the PROMISLingua Pilot project is the translation, localisation and implementation of the existing PROMIS® online service (at the moment available in English, German and Italian) in additional six languages and markets (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Greek, Romanian, Hungarian). The project aims at shortening the time-to-market of PROMIS® and delivering a cost-efficient and easy-to-use Internet based service for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHE-Q) management via multilingual translation and innovative support services to SMEs.
The PROMIS® technology system will be enhanced and customised to multiple languages with online automated translation systems, Machine Translation, structuring of content, information retrieval.
This overall objective encompasses a set of specific objectives:
- To localize the PROMIS® service and replicate it in other territories (Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Romania and Hungary) tailoring it to the market requirements,
- To set up and integrate the technology allowing machine translations, cross-language communication and text retrieval facility.
- To structure, translate and tailor the contents and interactive services for internationalisation, building upon the concept of offering both free and paid for contents through public private partnership (PPP),
- To consolidate the market entry in the 4 existing countries (i.e. UK, Germany, Austria and Italy)
- To finalize partners’ Intellectual Property Rights registration, agreements and technology audit,
- To set up and conclude contracts and agreements among public and private partners, content providers, user associations and strategic alliance partners,
- To organise 5 workshops with the goal to raise awareness, advertise the PROMIS® solution, methodology and the brand, thus consequently also penetrate the market with the PROMIS® service,
- Preparing the rollout and deployment plans of the PROMISLingua service for the six additional countries in Greece, France, Portugal, Romania, Hungary and Spain
- To keep on the fore front of technological and multilingual innovation, thus maintaining the existing unique selling proposition (USP).
